26.05.2010. The 2nd part of Folklore Festival ‘Art for Peace’ was held in Sergiev Posad
On 21-24 May, 2010 UNDP within the frame of the project ‘Sustainable Integration and Recover in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania’ has conducted the second part of the Folklore Festival ‘Art to Peace’ in Sergiev Posad, Moscow Oblast. The first part of the Festival was held in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.
The Festival concerts took place in Culture House ‘Youth’ in rural settlement Bereznyakovskoe on 22 May 2010 and in Municipal Institution of Culture ‘October’ in Sergiev Posad on 23 May 2010. Eleven folk music groups from Sergiev Posad district and Cossack choir ‘Berzayushka’ from Ardon, Republic of North Ossetia-Alania participated in the Folklore Festival.
The group from North Ossetia was accommodated in the families of the Russian folk songs choir, ‘Moskoviya’, visited North Ossetia-Alania during the first part of the Festival.
Excursions to Art-Industrial College after V. M. Vasnetsov in Abramtsevo, Trinity Sergius Lavra, Chernihiv skit were organized for the members of ‘Berzayushka’ choir as well as the extensive programme over the Moscow.
The guests had the unique opportunity to attend the morning liturgy of the Great Orthodox Pentecost Celebration in the Trinity Sergius Lavra, during which three Ardon Cossacks were afforded the honor of striking the bells.
The North Ossetian delegation was headed by Mr. Vladislav Marzaev - Head of Administration of Local Self-government of Ardon district, who participated in specially organized official meetings, resulted in the established business contacts between the Sergiev Posad and Ardon districts.
The Festival promoted cultural rapprochement as well as the establishment and development of economic relations.
